Tuesday, May 5 6:30 pm Lower Polk Neighbors meet at FCC/SF in the fellowship hall. Saturday, May 9 6:30 pm Concert for Europe Day by the American Bach Soloists with conductor Jeffrey Thomas, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, sponsored by the German Consulate General, at St Mark’s Lutheran Church, 1111 O’Farrell Street: Music by GF Handel and Beethoven including the finale to the 9th Symphony, the “Ode to Joy,” which serves as the anthem of the European Union, will be featured. Out-going Consul General, the Honorable Rolf Schütte, and out-going Consul for Cultural Affairs, the Honorable Karsten Tietz will also use this concert to say farewell to friends in San Francisco.
